daily newspapers.
In 1987 the Fraunhofer Institute invented
the MP3 format which is now widely used in the music
industry and for digital satellite radio.
In 1930 Manfred von Ardenne made the first
successful electronic television transmission. To make the
electric beams visible he used the luminous spots of a Braun
tube.
In1843 Friedrich Gottlob Keller pulverized
wood on a grindstone to make a fibrous mush – the so-called
ground wood pulp - from which he produced a sheet of paper.
This method was the basis for mass production of cheap
paper, especially for newspapers.
