bullet Germany has 14 nationwide as well as  more than 450 regionally and locally distributed daily newspapers.
bulletIn 1987 the Fraunhofer Institute invented the MP3 format which is now widely used in the music industry and for digital satellite radio.
bullet In 1930 Manfred von Ardenne made the first successful electronic television transmission. To make the electric beams visible he used the luminous spots of a Braun tube.
bullet In1843 Friedrich Gottlob Keller pulverized wood on a grindstone to make a fibrous mush – the so-called ground wood pulp - from which he produced a sheet of paper. This method was the basis for mass production of cheap paper, especially for newspapers.
