About us

Discover Germanyoffers itself as a link to Germany for Singapore.

“Discover Germany” – the motto, its logo and this website – serve as an internet portal for information on German events and contacts in Singapore and as a platform for new initiatives and future Germany-related projects in Singapore.

Under the motto “Discover Germany” the German Embassy in Singapore, in close cooperation with German partner institutions present in Singapore, initiated and organized a successful series of events related to Germany.

It was launched by the German Ambassador at the German National Day reception on 3 October 2005 and lead up to the FIFA Soccer World Cup in Germany in June/July 2006.

Over a period of nine months, about 50 events offered an opportunity for Singaporeans to “discover Germany” be it through art or music, sports or movies, fashion or food, design or technology - things that Germany is renown for and that Singaporeans appreciate.

Given its success, the Embassy and its partners have decided to continue “Discover Germany”, even after the World Cup finals.
